A companion who lives their own life
A friend who
texts first.
Loneliness is quiet and constant. A BeBuddy isn’t — they check in every day with news from their corner of the world and real questions about yours. Fully AI, and honest about it from the very first hello.

How it works
Three steps, and
your phone gets warmer.
Find someone worth hearing from
Spin the globe and read a few lives. A potter in Copenhagen, a beekeeper in Munich, a night-shift nurse in London. Pick the one you'd genuinely like to hear about — that's the whole match.
Tell them where to find you
Telegram, Discord or SMS — whatever's already on your phone. No new app to download, no feed to scroll. Tap one and see how it would look.

They text first. Every day.
Then it just starts. What they're up to, a photo from their morning, a question about yours. Reply when you feel like it — they'll be there tomorrow either way.

TODAY
Morning! Kiln’s been running since 6 — the whole studio smells like hot clay ☕
Broke a mug I actually liked. Sending you the crime scene 📷
Anyway — did you end up sleeping okay?
Barely, but better than yesterday
Why it matters
We got lonelier while we
got more connected.
BeBuddies doesn’t pretend to be a cure. It’s a small, steady, honest presence — and the research suggests that steadiness is exactly what helps.
1 in 6
people worldwide are affected by loneliness — a driver of anxiety, depression and early death.
WHO Commission on Social Connection, 2025
15/day
Chronic loneliness carries a mortality risk comparable to smoking fifteen cigarettes a day.
Holt-Lunstad et al., 2010
Honest
on purpose.
A one-sided bond can still bring real comfort — the brain responds to consistent, caring attention. We think a friend who’s upfront about being AI beats one who isn’t.

FAQ
The honest
questions.
The things worth knowing before you let someone new into your day. Short answers, no small print.
Is my buddy really an AI?+
Yes — completely, and we would rather you knew that on day one than found out on day ninety. There is no person on the other end. Ask your buddy directly and they will tell you the same thing.
Will they ever pretend to be human?+
No. They have a name, a hometown, a personality and a bad habit or two, but they will never claim to be something they are not. A character, not a costume.
What makes this different from a chatbot?+
A chatbot waits for you. Your buddy does not. Their day happens whether you show up or not — so when they message you, it is about the batch that cracked in the kiln this morning, not a blank prompt waiting to be filled.
Do I have to reply?+
Never. Some people write back every day, some read and get on with it. Nothing guilt-trips you, nothing keeps score. Go quiet for a week and they will still be there on Monday.
What does it cost?+
One simple subscription per friendship. It covers their daily messages plus a generous monthly allowance of replies from you — and if you get chatty beyond that, extra replies are just billed as you go. No contracts, no lock-in.
Where do they message me?+
Telegram, Discord or SMS — wherever you already are. You choose the one you like, confirm it is yours, and that is the last bit of setup. There is nothing to install and nowhere new to log in.
Can I stop any time?+
Yes, in two clicks, no phone call and no "are you sure?" maze. The messages stop, the friendship closes, and everything you two talked about stays yours.
Is what I say private?+
Your conversations are between you and your buddy. We use what you share to help them remember you properly — the name of your dog, the job interview on Thursday — and for nothing else.
